Deanna Brasseur

Major (Res.) C.M., C.D., Combat Pilot

Deanna Brasseur is one of the first two woman in Canada – and the world — to successfully graduate from the challenging Canadian Forces CF-18 jet fighter program. Following a traditional military career start as a typist, her dynamic personality and passion for life led her to pursue a career in aviation. Blasting through many traditional barriers and accomplishing what would become a series of firsts for women in the military, Dee graduated from officer training and controlling fighter aircraft to becoming a pilot and flying them. For her contribution to Canadian Aviation and her efforts in creating, training and leading the first Canadian Precision Flying Team, Dee was inducted as a Member of the “Order of Canada”. Hear her remarkable success story about maximum performance, living life to the fullest, and how the sky is NOT the limit.

From office clerk to combat pilot, Major Deanna Brasseur’s career in the Canadian Forces has been amazing, historic and totally unique. Truly a new age international aviation pioneer, Dee was one of the first three women to earn their wings as pilots in the Canadian military in 1981. Eight years later she became one of only two female pilots in the world to fly the highly sophisticated, supersonic, CF18 fighter aircraft. For her courage to speak out, she was featured in MacLean’s Magazine December 1998 Honour Roll Special Edition as an “Outstanding Canadian”. Success Motivation International Inc., selected Dee to receive their 1998 World Client of the Year Award for Personal Achievement; listed in the 1999 Edition of Who’s Who in Canada; in addition to creating, training and leading the first Canadian Precision Flying Team to compete at the 1996 World Championships for her outstanding contributions in Canadian aviation Dee was inducted as a Member of the “Order of Canada” in February, 1999.

Since her first presentation in 1982, Dee has shared the unique learning and experience of her life’s journey with literally thousands of Canadians. In 1994 she retired from the Military to write “Achieve It: A Personal Success Journal” and establish Unlimited Horizons, a professional speaking, performance coaching and training business committed to ‘unlocking the magnificence within each and everyone’ through teaching the physiology and psychology of excellence. Ladies and Gentlemen, please ensure your seatback and tray tables are in the upright position, fasten your seat belts, sit back and relax as Dee takes you into her “Unlimited Horizons” approach to living life to the fullest!
